Discovery 2 td5. Started about a month ago switched it off as normal come to next day and it's dead on the key hazards flashing and m and s light flashing. Researched everything I could about it. I'm pretty sure it's the immobiliser playing up. I've put new battery on the car and in the key. I've had the xyz switch off cleaned and refitted.
A: Check again the picture: - the black connector has two rows of pins, each row having 5 pins - the pins we need are located on the top row, so forget about the bottom row - check the picture again; we will assign a number to each pin from the top row: to top right pin will be #1, the next one going left and little bit down is #2 and so on
Immobiliser module is in the RH dash. Drop the RH speaker unit out and shine a torch onto the firewall. There it be, with two plugs with lotsa wires coming from the bottom. Can't miss it. Mine is green and only couple of inches square. Suppose there is a chip inside and it is as big as it is to accept the plugs. :0)
Afternoon All - Discovery 1 300 tdi 1996 Manual. Bit of a problem. Was Out laning with a few lads and decided to go through a very deep ford - Luckily truck made it thorugh and cabin was full of water (seat high) as i came out the immobiliser light came on. This is the Land Rover Defender immobiliser / security control unit found behind the speaker on the dashboard, the unit is held in with 2 x torx screws, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE WHOLE DASHBOARD. We cannot send you a new replacement unit until you have sent us your original unit. A new unit requires security programming to the vehicle.
I've tried to crank it over today & a few problems. 1. Indicators flash intermittently. 2. Red immobiliser is usually off but will sometimes strobe, stay solid (on) or flicker with the indicators. When it strobes or flickers I can hear a buzzing that sounds like it's coming from behind the glovebox. 3.
Hi. If the Eureka unit is the universal Defender / Discovery 1 Land Rover part it is just a plug in replacement unit for the "Smart Spider" no need to cut or modify the harness except for the feed wires. (Located under the centre of the dash ) View attachment 164335. You could just replace the unit with the spider bypass which retail under ÂŁ10.
